Škoda Auto places great emphasis on the safe handling of substances that can endanger the soil or groundwater in the event of a leak. Where technologically possible, it favors less hazardous substances and seeks to minimize water consumption per manufactured vehicle. The amount of reused water (recycled water) reaches more than 45% of total consumption.

In the field of waste management, the company strictly adheres to the waste management hierarchy, primarily trying to prevent the generation of waste. If wastes are generated, they are preferably handed over for material or energy use. The result of this effort is that in 2020, Škoda Auto no longer landfilled any waste from production at its plants in the Czech Republic.

Škoda Auto uses more than 60% of its electricity from renewable sources for operation, as it purchases this commodity with a zero CO₂ certificate. It also benefits from its own production from the combustion of biomass in the Ško-Energo heating plant in Mladá Boleslav, which used biomass to replace 1/3 of fossil fuel consumption and saved over 200 million tons of CO₂ between 2010 and 2020. Škoda Auto is the driving force of e-Mobility to improve local air quality. By 2030, the share of electric vehicles in the carmaker's model portfolio will be 50-70%. The share of electric vehicles in the Group's fleet should increase to 40% by 2030. Škoda Auto participates and will continue to participate in environmentally and climate-friendly mobility outside the field of car production. By 2022, the company will support the construction of an internal charging infrastructure with almost 1,500 charging points.
