Hybrid models

Hybrid models combine a classic internal combustion engine with an electric motor and batteries. Depending on the degree of hybridisation, we distinguish between several types of hybrids, including plug-in hybrids.

Plug-in hybrid (PHEV)

Plug-in hybrids combine a classic internal combustion engine with an electric motor which can be recharged from an electrical outlet. The PHEV can be driven in pure electric mode, but the range is limited. The result is low fuel consumption and a quiet electric drive, especially around the city.

Vision E (2017)

The Vision E concept car is the first time we have embodied our vision of zero-emission driving with the highest level of dynamics. Built on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform, the Vision E is teeming with inventive features both inside and out. Driven by positive energy.

Vision 𝗶V (2019)

The all-electric Vision iV provides a preview of our new upcoming model. The four‑door crossover coupé impresses with sporty, emotive lines and exudes a feeling of spaciousness. A dynamic driving experience is ensured by all-wheel drive and two electric motors outputting 225 kW. The car has a maximum range of 500 km in the WLTP cycle.

From concept to production

In 2017, the Škoda Vision E concept charted the course that Škoda Auto would take in eMobility. The next step was the Škoda Vision iV study, unveiled in Geneva two years later. Since then, new all-electric and hybrid models have been expanding Škoda's model portfolio.

The amount of power available in individual driving situations depends on various factors, such as ambient temperature and the charge status, temperature and condition or physical age of the high-voltage battery. The availability of the maximum power requires the high-voltage battery to be between 23°C and 50°C and have a charge level of > 88%. Deviations from the aforementioned parameters in particular may lead to a reduction in power, through to the complete unavailability of the maximum power. The battery temperature can be indirectly influenced by the auxiliary air conditioner to a certain extent and the charge level can, for example, be adjusted in the vehicle. The amount of power available at a particular time is shown in the vehicle’s power display. To maintain the high-voltage battery’s usable capacity as effectively as possible, a battery charging target of 80% is recommended if the vehicle is used daily (to be switched to 100% prior to long-distance journeys for example).
